Case study no. 8: Zola Hatmanow (age 45), Researcher

She is a researcher in one of the Italian universities. She started this work about ten years ago with a very unstable position and she was happy to enter such an important institution after a few years of continues changing from a company to another. She earned less than before, but she have had the opportunity to optimize her position.

After four year she was able to win a fixed-term contract for three years. She was really happy, but in few month the disaster: the marriage was complicate and she decided to break it, this means more care for the children; then there was a big trouble with her boss and she have had to move to another Department, then her brother died, the mourn was very heavy for her.

Mrs. Z.H., at that time looked like a “zombie”, started to avoid friends, with the children was irritable and inattentive, if you spoke with her she does not answer properly or in time. It was useful an intensive programme with a psychotherapist and the specific support of two friends of her. Now she is like before, very nice and sympathetic with all, a very good mother, open and helpful with the students and six months ago she won the full time position at the University.
